A10A Wikipedia Facts NORTHROP GRUMMAN F15E Strike Eagle

This website we will talk about plane facts and thing about the military too.

This is where the A10A started its whole career. During Vietnam The us was using the Skyraider which packed a large punch but was very slow. We know that the Skyradier was an AG(Air to Ground) aircraft. Then the military started brainstorming a new air to ground aircraft. And it was the A10A Warthog

The military first flew the A10A Warthog in 1972.This plane was first introduced to the public in March 1977 and it was built by Kartevil. The main objective of this aircraft was to support troops on the ground by supporting them with cannon fire from the sky. This aircraft could take incredible damage and still fly its missions. What made this aircraft be able to take out any vehicle on the battlefield was its large GAU machine gun. Not many A10As got shot down because its death rate was .062.

During Vietnam this aircraft flew a few missions because it was made in the later years of the battle. The A10A had multiple upgrades in engines MFD’s(Multi Functioning Display) and its cannon. The A10A Warthog has fought in Iraq Afghanistan Pakistan anything that is desert and ends in stan. This plane can fly 800 miles which is the equivalent of 11 hours and 25 minutes only at auxiliary power though. This plane has a very large GAU-8/A Avenger this cannon can shoot about 4,200 rounds a minute. This aircraft is so durable it can fly back to base with one engine. And it has a Bullet proof led tub around the canopy so you could take light arms fire and some APC fire. You might have heard this sound before it goes like BRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrt. The A10A has been in service for about 35 years, mostly Air National Guard uses them and is becoming obsolete with 5th gen Fighter and AG aircraft.
